Important information
---------------------
1. The program crashes after the initial "ENGLISH/GERMAN" question
Please delete the file EISA.CFG.
2. The program crashes when invoking "Setup" or endlessly displays
a "Please wait..." window
Invoke the program using the "-NOROMJUMPS" parameter. This parameter
turns off some setup entries - the program displays "? -> XXXX" instead
of the current setting, where XXXX is a jump address into the BIOS. If
any jump address does not point to code, AMIsetup will crash.
To use all setup entries, you have to create a Bios image file.
>> You must disable "System ROM Shadow" for a working BIOS image!
The "System ROM shadow" option can be found under the following different
names:
"Shadow RAM Option" None
"System ROM Shadow" Disabled
"ROM BIOS Shadow" Disabled
"F000 Shadow RAM" Disabled
"Segment F Shadow RAM" Disabled
"Disable Shadow Memory Size" 384 KB
"Disable Shadow Memory Base" 640 KB
After creating the BIOS.DAT file, you can (and should) re-enable the
BIOS shadow.
With some BIOS revisions, these instructions still won't create a
useable BIOS.DAT. Sometimes, a flash BIOS upgrade will lead to success.
If you don't succeed in creating a valid BIOS.DAT, please contact the
author. You can obtain a modified, working BIOS.DAT for the Intel Plato
chipset (ID string "PCI82430"); electronic mail is preferred.
If you send a flash BIOS upgrade file for your chipset, the author might
be able to create BIOS.DAT out of the flash upgrade (using the GetBIOS
tool, which is still under development).
3. The program crashes at start-up
Please use the -PCI or -NOPCI switches.
